What makes a Lysgaard piece different?
Four principles stay constant, from first sketch to finished piece.
Drawn for you
Every commission begins with pencil and paper — never a catalogue. You own the design.
Recycled gold
We remelt certified recycled gold, so the piece carries no new mining.
Traceable stones
Diamonds and coloured stones come with an origin you can read for yourself.
Forged by hand
No mass production. One goldsmith follows your piece from start to finish.

The atelier
A workshop, not a shop counter
Lysgaard Atelier is a goldsmith workshop founded in Oslo in 1998 by Ingrid Lysgaard, trained in Seoul and London. We are a small house of three goldsmiths, and we take on a limited number of commissions each year so every piece gets the time it deserves. The work happens in the rooms on Bygdøy allé, where you can sit at the bench, hold the wax model and watch the gold being forged. We work exclusively in recycled gold and stones with a documented origin — a choice we made in 2014 and have never reversed. A piece from here is meant to be repaired, not replaced: that is why every setting carries a five-year warranty and an open door for servicing, for as long as you own it.

Ingrid drew my ring from a conversation about my grandmother. It already feels like an heirloom.
We remelted old family gold into two wedding bands. Watching it happen at the bench is unforgettable.
Honest about price, honest about origin, and the craft is faultless. I won’t go anywhere else.
Questions about commissions
Most of what people wonder before getting in touch.
How long does a bespoke ring take?
Allow six to ten weeks from the first conversation to the finished ring. If it is needed for a specific date, we tell you early whether that is possible.
Can you use gold or stones I already have?
Yes. We are glad to remelt heirloom gold and reset stones from older pieces — it is some of the most rewarding work we do.
What does a bespoke piece cost?
A simple wedding band starts around NOK 9,000; rings with a stone vary by material. You receive a fixed estimate after the first conversation, before we begin.
What if the piece needs servicing later?
Every setting carries a five-year warranty, and you are always welcome back for polishing and adjustment for as long as you own the piece.
Let us draw something that is yours
The first consultation is without obligation and lasts about an hour. Bring an idea, an old piece or simply a feeling.
